“Show Me Your Monster”

“Sometimes, when creating, I’m afraid of making a mistake that can’t be undone.”

We invite you to play with fear, literature, pop culture and illustration.

“Show Me Your Monster” is an imagination game in which we will create creatures inspired by horror films, mythology and folk tales.

But every game has its rules…

We will use ceramic underglaze paints or watercolours. The choice of technique depends on whether you would like to take your work home with you or leave it as part of a shared meeting space that we hope to create together for you.

Each illustration will take shape in stages. In successive rounds, we will draw random descriptions of characters’ visual features and then bring them to life on paper or ceramic. By combining different creatures and their features, we will create unique hybrids.

Isn’t change the only constant? And aren’t mixing and mutual influences what shape our everyday reality, leaving room for constant transformation, where fear can give way to play?
