It takes all sorts of forms. It serves a particular function — it is there to relate what can, after all, be seen. It is not always accessible. At times, owing to the excessively personal tone of the addresser, it can be difficult to understand. If it goes beyond being simply informative, perhaps it should be rewritten?  Who — and on whose behalf — dares to speak? Who asked?

Artists use text as a tool: a tool for shifting meanings, for change — on an individual scale and in collective practices, for redefining, dismantling social norms and demanding space. Language is more than an arrangement of syllables and sounds, it also poses questions about the representation and audibility of marginalised voices.

The rooms that house this text-exhibition are spacious but, nevertheless, sometimes cramped (after all, there are only two of them). They function not only as an exhibition space but also as a stage for intimate confessions, a reading room and platform for transforming speech and searching for alternative versions of text in an era when the constantly-shifting language ceases to sufficiently describe or falsifies reality.
