The free admission day for exhibitions at the Baltic Gallery of Contemporary Art
from September 1, 2022 is Thursday
The Centre for Creative Activities in the city of Ustka will start its functioning in the 2nd quarter of the year 2013. This fact has become possible thanks to the financial support from the European Regional Development Fund for the Pomeranian Province in the years 2007-2013 within the framework of the project entitled The Comprehensive Program for the Development of the Baltic Gallery of Contemporary Art – Creating the Centre for Creative Activities in Ustka”.
The Centre for Creative Activities has appeared in result of the renovation of a historic granary, the modest part of which had been occupied by the Baltic Gallery of Contemporary Art until recently. It will be the first centre of the kind in Poland and one of the few existing in Europe and all over the world so far. Similar institutions exist in such places as Kecskemet, Hungary, Vallauris, France, and Tokoname, Japan.
The centre is to include sculpture and ceramics ateliers, as well as a computer-aided print studio and a film studio equipped with the state-of-the-art hardware and software. The Centre for Creative Activities includes a large lecture room and an exhibition hall. A modern accommodation base and a café bar will be prepared to enable artistic residences and placements. The centre is supposed to become a place for interdisciplinary activities within the field of widely understood visual arts, as well as film, theatre and performance projects.
