Stanisław Wolski Distinguishing Marks 2014
Small Gallery
Opening: April 11th, 2014 at 6.00 p.m.
The exhibition will be open till May 24th, 2014.
Stanisław Wolski is a graduate from the faculty of fine arts of the Mikolaj Kopernik University in Torun and from the Art Institute in Lublin. Diploma from Prof. Marian Stelmasik.
The works presented at the exhibition are the conclusion of the cycle Distinguishing Marks which the artist started in 1986 and showed at exhibitions in the Town Gallery Wroclaw (as letters to Andrzej Partum) and in the Moje Archiwum [My Archive] gallery, the inter-media studio of Robert Knuth, the gallery at the Wedel palace in Kalisz and during multi-media meetings.
Wolski started the cycle Distinguishing Marks from a work made on damaged and coloured recycled paper. Having finished his resources of such paper, he decided to end the cycle with ‘pure’ paper without damages and colourings. The exhibition The End of the Paper was presented in 2008 at the artistic centre in Koszalin. After that exhibition the artist recognised that the change of the material had enabled some completely new possibilities and could be the starting point for new research.
