PASSAGES
Witches’ Tower
May 28th – June 28th, 2015
Opening: 28th May 2015, at 5.00 pm
Piotr Bujak (born 1982 in Będzin) is a visual artist, working with various media, a doctoral student at the faculty of arts of the Pedagogical University in Cracow. At present he lives and works in Cracow.
The exhibition Passages is the inauguration edition of the first part of the newest project by Piotr Bujak concerning contemporary consumer reality and its oppressive character. The title which is a tribute and direct reference to the text by Walter Benjamin, determines directly the object of expression and the construct on which it is built.
The whole work has a character of an extended set consisting mainly of video recordings which can be read both as a monolith and a cluster of autonomous realisations. In his typical way Bujak has joined low budget strategies and means of expression of various proveniences with conceptual-formal discipline, mordantly interpreting the problem with which he has been dealing since long. The set of works presented at the Small Gallery has come into being in 2015.
