Repeat Pattern is the result of my creative exploration in the areas of artistic ceramics and textile design. I am a scholarship winner in the 3rd PhD Implementation Programme delivered by the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education. I have been a PhD student at the E. Geppert Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław since October 2018. I also work as a designer in AxPro Carpets ltd. – a leading manufacturer of carpets and rugs in Poland.
The aim of my projects and artistic activities is to combine both areas in order to create innovative textile designs. My artistic endeavours become closely interwoven and inspire the use of various media. By combining these two areas, I intend to create new aesthetic, inspirational and mutually complementary values, thus offering surprising reinterpretations of various threads from seemingly distant areas.
Repeat Pattern aims to convey an impression of unity and continuity. The concept of the exhibition is for me a reflection on the variability of forms and their functions – an aesthetic impression of sorts. The series of works presented at the exhibition is a kind of emotional record; and even though it is focused primarily on workshop processes, it constitutes a bridge between different and seemingly distant realms of matter and meaning.
