The photoseries Winter blues is a visual exploration of phenomenon of dark, empty period both in the nature and people’s lives.

Winter blues is also the more poetic name of seassonal affective disorder, caused by lack of sunlight. It’s strongly connected to the cycles of nature – the winter is time of the hibernation.

During the winter, people tend to hide inside themsleves, digging deep inside of feelings ussually hidden under the surface of their daily lives. It’s the period of dealing with the darkness both outside and inside.

Sleeping is sometimes compared to the death, but means also regeneration, gather one’s strenght. In this point of wiew, winter blues seems kind of natural – shows us we are the part of nature, the deep internal connection all living beings share together.
