“Archimetries” is a group exhibition project that aims to present the issue of the wide-ranging aesthetics of agglomeration and the language of geometry that organises it. It is no secret to anyone that the history, form and organisation of the city are components of a larger social reality which, like culture as a whole, has a sign-like and relational character, with the consequence that we can treat the city as a space of ‘general’ writing (or text). The city in this sense is a textual and semiotic structure brought to life by individual and collective subjects. It is symptomatic that the works presented at the exhibition are not explicitly realised in the spirit of abstraction, as the intention of their authors is also to search for connections with the environment and the urban environment, and therefore also with architecture and urban planning. The orders that unite both the works and the themes of the works are reduction, asceticism and repetition.
