„In 1922, the inhabitants of Stolpmünde founded a monument of the Dying Warrior, created by Josef Thorak. In 2010, thanks to the contributions of Ustka residents, a monument to the Mermaid was erected, the author of which is Michał Rosa. There is 850 meters distance between both monuments, nearly 100 years passed between the creation of them. One belongs to German, second to Polish history of the town.” Anka Leśniak
