In his cycle of pictures All the Love of the Universe Aleksander Ryszka refers to the issues of nature and landscape. Among other things, the artist uses pictures from his family archive. These includes the portraits of his parents against the background of the landscape, however the parents don’t appear in any of the pictures. Ryszka is portraying the very nature which is a silent observer of our inability to manage with the inevitability of death. The relation between the ‘eternity’ of landscape and the fragility of our life, human relations, ideas and thoughts is the starting point for the do new painting cycle. The artist also uses some old 19th-century photographs from the Tatra Mountains, as well as the landscapes from his own archive. Apart from mountain motives, the white, big format minimalist canvases containing a blurred, almost illegible text do appear in the new cycle. The texts correspond with the mountain pictures not only from the formal point of view, but first of all with their contents.
